Question 3
3. If a 5% budget cut becomes necessary in your first year, where would you make those cuts?

Public safety must always remain the top priority.
Before making any reductions, my administration will conduct a complete review of the Sheriff’s Office current operating budget and financial commitments created under previous policies.
Any reductions would be structured to protect patrol operations and detention center staffing first.
Potential areas for savings may include:
-
Administrative overhead
-
Non-essential spending
-
Duplicated administrative functions
-
Programs that do not directly support frontline law enforcement operations
The guiding principle will be clear:
Protect deputies and correctional officers on the front line while eliminating wasteful or unnecessary spending.
