2. What would you do differently than the last Sheriff to keep the community safer?

​

The biggest difference will be active leadership and rebuilding operational policing capacity.

My administration will focus on placing deputies back into proactive policing roles that directly impact crime reduction and public safety.

This includes the creation or re-staffing of several specialized operational units, including:

• Street Crime Unit – focused on proactive enforcement targeting repeat offenders, narcotics activity, and high-crime areas.

• Warrant Service Unit – dedicated to locating and serving outstanding criminal warrants to ensure offenders are held accountable.

• Traffic Enforcement Unit – focused on addressing aggressive driving, DUI enforcement, and roadway safety throughout the county.

• Reserve / Auxiliary Deputy Unit – create and implement a trained volunteer reserve deputy program that can assist with community events, emergency operations, and supplemental patrol support.

 

In addition, school safety will be a top priority. My administration will work closely with Cecil County Government and the Cecil County Public School Board to strengthen the School Resource Deputy program by:

 

• Providing a permanent School Resource Deputy assigned to every public high school and middle school entrusted to the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office. All elementary schools under the care of the sheriffs office will have a assigned School Resource Deputy who will ensure a daily presence.    

Protecting our children and ensuring safe learning environments must remain one of the most important responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Office.

 

My administration will focus on:

• Rebuilding patrol staffing levels

• Providing deputies with proper training, leadership, and equipment

• Strengthening partnerships with local municipal police departments, community leaders and organizations.

• Supporting proactive enforcement strategies designed to prevent crime before it occurs

Public safety improves when deputies are visible, proactive, and supported by strong leadership.
